About Me and MEYADE GAMES STUDIO
Hi, I'm Mehmet Ali, a solo indie game developer. I live in Turkey, I work a full-time job, I'm married, and I'm the father of one. MEYADE GAMES STUDIO is the name I put on everything I build in the hours left over after all of that.
How this started
It started as a hobby. Evenings after the house got quiet, weekends when I could carve out a few hours. I didn't set out to run a studio. I just wanted to make something that worked, then something a little bigger, then something I could show people.
What kept me going wasn't a plan. It was that I genuinely enjoy making things. Every day I try to improve a little: learn a tool I didn't know yesterday, understand why something broke, finish a feature I've been circling for a week. Some days the progress is one fixed bug. That still counts.
Why one name for everything
The projects are quite different from each other: a private notes app, a customer book for shopkeepers, a dragon game, a foot tennis game, a horror story. For a while each lived on its own. At some point I wanted one place that said "this is all the same person." That place is MEYADE GAMES STUDIO.
It is a one-person studio. I design, code, test on my own phone, write the store pages and record the clips myself. If something is rough, it's because I haven't gotten to it yet, not because someone else dropped it.
What I've made so far
- Unutma — my first project. A private personal assistant and notes app that keeps everything on your phone and works without internet.
- Protokol-Ø — my first game. An AI thriller told through cases, where your decisions matter.
- NEO: Interactive Horror Story — a branching horror story with 285 scenes, 675 branches and 20 endings, all free.
- Mobies — a customer book for small businesses, grown out of Unutma.
- Bolt & Breath: Last Dragon — you are the last dragon burning the royal fleet; built in Unity.
- Foot Tennis Stars — football meets volleyball, now with online matches.
- Prof. Nano — a science game that tries to spark kids' curiosity about science; out now in Turkish, with English on the way.
- Tomb Maze: Horror Escape — a horror maze escape; out now, free on the App Store.
Each of these has its own post on this blog, where I tell the honest version: what I wanted, what went wrong, and what's next.
What this blog is for
I'm not going to pretend any of this is bigger than it is. These are small projects by one person, and I'd rather tell you the real story than a polished one. I'll write about the small wins, the parts I struggled with, and whatever I'm working on next.
Follow along
I post a short clip every day: gameplay, behind the scenes, and whatever I'm building at the moment. You can find me as @meyade.gamesstudio on YouTube and Instagram (TikTok and X are coming soon).
If you try one of the apps or games, I'd love to hear what you think. Thanks for reading.
